Fame, I'm gonna live forever.....

KENYA CHIC $59

These flashy leggings are not for the faint of heart. Choose from wild, metallic prints with names to match like Kenya Chic, Midnight Madam and Show Girl.

Many of the prints used are limited stock rescued from downtown's fashion district. This limits the amount Costume Dept. makes and how much we get in. So pass by the Project Stores and get a pair. Once they're gone, they're gone for good.

MIDNIGHT MADAM $55

LIBERTY BELL $37

COLD BLOODED $35

SHOW GIRL $37

Projects' Staff Weekly Obsession: James Jean

Kalyca is loving James Jean right now.

A couple of months ago, I came across a promotional video for Prada's Spring line. Immediately I became fascinated with the background setting and the animation, completely forgetting the purpose for the video (to advertise Prada's accessories).

The hunt was on; who was the mastermind behind it and what else had he or she done in the art world? James Jean is his name and illustration is his game.

I'll let his work do the talking.

Rack It Up.

Biking around in NYC is the fashionable thing to do these days. It's only right that there are creative bike racks for us to use.

Musician and biking enthusiast David Bryne has taken his bike-aphilia to the next level and teamed up with The Department of Transportation and Pace Wildenstein to create nine temporary bike racks that have been place throughout the city.

After 11 months the racks will be removed and sold as works of art.

Click here for the names and locations of the racks.

Look Don't Drink.

The Charybdis fountain is William Pye's largest vortex water sculpture to date, and it was created using a large acrylic polymer cylinder which allows an air-core vortex to form as water is pumped in a circular motion.

The fountain also relies on a heavy-duty water filtration system which is necessary to keep the vortex clean and spinning properly.

Always On Time!

Digital Melting Dali
.

After seeing Time Table it got me thinking. What others forms of clocks are out there that are unique and could be conversational pieces? We would no longer have a reason to be late with these in our homes.
The Aitkenhead Clock.

Normal's Grid Clock.

The Wave Clock.

Time Table.

Time Table by designer Ross McBride.

The entire top surface is a digital clock made of electro-luminescent film, which accounts for the thinness of the structure. The electronics include an alarm and a timer to switch the light off at night. Additionally, the light can be turned on or off anytime without affecting the time.

Projects' Staff Weekly Obsession: Tim Walker.

The fashion photographers are taking over this week!

Tina is obsessing over the work from Mr. Tim Walker.

Tim Walker's photographs can be described as snapshots of a little girl's imagination or a page out of a fairy tale. The colors and atmosphere of the pictures are dreamy with his play on light and soft pastel colors. His pictures do more than just capture a of moment in time, they tell a whole story behind his eyes.

Tim Walker is a photographer based in London. Tim's interest in photography began while he was working for Conde Nast where he set up the Cecil Beaton archive. After graduating from Exeter Art College, he worked as a freelance photographic assistant before working as Richard Avedon's assistant in New York.

His career as a photographer was launched when he came in third in the Independent Young Photographer of the Year Award, and he went on to contribute to high-profile magazines including Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar. He has also shot advertising campaigns for clients including Barney's, Comme des Garcons, Gap and Yohji Yamamoto.

Spotlight: Alix Malka.

Parisian-born Alix Malka began his career in the fashion world in 1985 working with Thierry Mugler. Today he is one of the most asked for photographers by international magazines.

He draws inspiration from designers John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, and filmmakers like Pedro Almodovar and John Waters. Malka's work shows his obsession with color and his unique and sophisticated styles which are apparent in these photographs.

If only we could all look this good underwater. Here, the lovely poses of Marcelina Sowa are captured with delicately swirling fabric and hair in a way that can't be done on land. The pictures were taken for a Japanese magazine, Numero Tokyo.
