Spotlight: Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most recognizable fashion designers in the world. Twice a year, he presents four new collections: Chanel couture; a month later, ready-to-wear for Fendi; Chanel; and his own Karl Lagerfeld label. Each collection has its own, distinct look that shows us that Mr. Lagerfeld is someone with an endless source of ideas. In the few days before a show, Lagerfeld manages to oversee the goings-on of his presentations while meeting the demands of the fashion press and his celebrity followers.

Please enjoy these photos taken by Photographer Christopher Anderson. They will give you a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes for one of Mr Lagerfeld's many shows.

Amanda Harlech, Lagerfeld’s muse at Chanel, goes through the Polaroid marked-up notes for each of the show’s looks.

Lagerfeld’s quickly sketched notes on an inspiration board. Here, on a photo of the founder, he writes, “I’d like to copy these necklaces.”

After the show, a quick hug and kiss from the Olsens, who were in the front row.
