A hat for you Miss?

A David Downtown illustration.

This Ireland-born, London-based milliner started his career in 1989 after being introduced to his longtime Muse, the late Isabella Blow. She commissioned him to create a fashion headdress for her marriage to the barrister, Detmar Blow. He continued to design hats for Mrs. Blow, which eventually made Treacy a recognized name in the fashion world.

Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy join forces to pay tribute to the Late Mrs. Isabella Blow.

Since then, he has designed pieces for the designer houses like Givenchy and Chanel, and designers such as Alexander McQueen, Valentino, and Gianni Versace. Mr. Treacy was asked to design hats for the wedding of Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.

With projects for G-Hotel, Moet & Chandon and David Downtown, the illustrator, a five-time recipient of the British Accessory Designer of the Year, still has a lot to show us.

Hats off to you, Mr. Philip Treacy.
