Designing uniforms for an Olympic team means you have to follow the rules, and the athletes have to wear the colors from their national flag. Being inspired by the Olympics, you're free to do what you want. This is clearly visible by the pieces McQueen has for his McQ collection Spring '08.
The Olympics were the designer's theme for his secondary line, now in its fourth season. Some stand out pieces were a sporty green parka, racing stripes top, red "warm-up" shirt jacket, a Grecian draped dress, plus a dress with colored plastic rings (the Olympic symbol) inserted between curving seams.
